A basket on a single tall bow handle.
The open basket shape is carried by a single tall bow handle, woven from the same leather as the body. The wide lattice shows what is placed inside, while the base is densely woven and carries the weight.
The warm chestnut comes from the tannage itself, not from a pigment coat, which is why the grain stays visible and the colour deepens over time.
